On the 7th-14th Day of Christmas…
Learn about entertaining at the Heyward Washington House on the 4th, 11th and 18th. Special tours begin at 4pm. Speaking of homes open to the public, I’On is having a Holiday HomeTour on the 7th from 1-5 and picking up from 5-8pm, Summerville’s Tea Farm will showcase six homes on a Candlelight Christmas Tour. Also the same evening, the John’s Island Presbyterian Church will feature its vocal and hand bell choirs in concert at 7 pm.
Join the CO of the USS Yorktown for an elegant dinner and dance at Christmas 1945 Aboard the USS Yorktown on the 12th.
On the 13th the Riverland Terrace Garden Club on James Island will host a Holiday House Tour with a twist from 10-4pm. McLeod Plantation will be included with each room decorated in period style with an artistic twist.
The Annual Spirituals Concert at Drayton Hall would be the perfect way to end the day. Concerts are the 13th and 14th 5:30pm
You could alternate with the Nutcracker set in Charleston 1865. The Charleston Ballet will perform on the 13th & 14th at the Gaillard.
Hampton Plantation is the site of Christmas through the Ages on the 13th from 10-4pm.
Marion Square will be the downtown headquarters for all things holiday. Children’s choirs, storytelling and a visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elf assistants at the North Pole Mailbox are available. Don’t miss the fun daily from the 7th through the 23rd. FREE
Create your own stained glass ornament at the children’s “Get Your Hands On History” workshop and tour the historic decorations at the Manigault House December 11th at the Charleston Museum 3:30-5pm. Or learn to Make a Holiday Wreath the 8th or 11th at Old Santee Canal Park.
